Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year, we ask questions of the most plugged-in Vikings fans and fans across the country.
We are back with our first SB Nation Reacts polls of the 2026 regular season concerning our Minnesota Vikings. This week, we have two questions: one focusing on the season opener against the Green Bay Packers, and the other is the question that we’ve asked throughout the regular season over the past couple of years about how confident you are in our favorite team overall.

We want all of you to call your shot on how you think the season-opening Border Battle is going to go. The Packers are coming into this one a bit short-handed, but the Vikings come into it with yet another new starter at quarterback. U.S. Bank Stadium should be rocking for the first real football game it’s seen since January, but will it be enough to get the purple off to a 1-0 start to the season?
Also, with the new season upon us, we want to know how confident you are in what this team is capable of in 2026. It’s the fifth season of the Kevin O’Connell era in Minnesota, and if you ask the Really Smart Football People™ around the league, it doesn’t seem as though the expectations for this squad are terribly high. There are a lot of column inches being devoted to a couple of other teams in this division, but not a lot being devoted to the Vikings. Is this team being overlooked? Are there big things in store for the Vikings, or should we be keeping the expectations low?
As always, we invite you to participate in our survey for this week by voting in both of our polls, whether you do so here or over in the Feed, and by sounding off in the comments as well.
Go ahead and have at it, everybody! We’ll have the results of both of these polls posted for you before kickoff on Sunday afternoon.
