New England Patriots RB TreVeyon Henderson (ankle) appears to be in danger of missing the Week 1 game against the Seattle Seahawks on Wednesday, Sept. 9.
He has been unable to practice since Aug. 24 due to an ankle injury, and his status for the regular-season opener is in serious jeopardy. Henderson played in every regular-season game and playoff contest in his rookie season of 2025. If he cannot start, RB Rhamondre Stevenson would get the starting nod. RB Corey Kiner is also on the 53-man roster, and might be the primary backup option if Henderson cannot go, or even if he is limited. RB Terrell Jennings (undisclosed) was placed on the season-ending reserve/injured list due to an undisclosed injury, leaving New England a bit light at the position.

Huddle Up: If Henderson is sidelined for the opener, it’s all-in on Stevenson, as he should handle the workload almost exclusively. While facing the Seahawks is no picnic, Stevenson would be a legit low-end RB1 as the workhorse, and a solid DFS play for Wednesday’s opener, too.
