New York Jets News: Jets swing roster deadline day trade with the Raiders

Good morning Gang Green Nation! Yesterday all NFL teams were required to cut down their rosters to the final 53 by 6 pm EDT. The New York Jets made their cuts, and there were few surprises. Arian Smith made the team after a terrible set of performances in the preseason, but with his 4th round draft pick status from a year ago and an uninspiring set of options at wide receiver behind Smith, this was not completely unexpected. Braiden McGregor made the team and Nate Lynn did not, but with Lynn arriving here less than two weeks before cuts, he probably never had enough time to make his case. Lynn is probably headed for the practice squad and may earn a call up at some point.

Today the Jets get a chance to add more talent at the back end of the roster through the waiver wire. The Jets have the #2 slot on the priority list for all waiver claims, so hopefully we will see a move or two to strengthen the roster before the day is out.
