The Jets have selected the players for their initial roster in 2026. The work is not finished, however.
The team can now begin assembling its practice squad. NFL teams are allowed to assemble a 17 players practice squad. These players practice with the team and attend meetings through the week. Every week, two players can be activated from the practice squad to play in games. These players do not need to be added to the active roster the first three times they are activated for a game. The fourth time, however, the team must add them to the 53 man roster.

Practice squad players are technically free agents and able to sign with the active roster of any team aside from upcoming opponents.
Who is eligible for the practice squad?
Teams can use up to 16 of their 17 slots on players with no NFL seasons or one season (with less than nine games played) if they so choose. For a fully stocked practice squad, the minimum number of players with this level of experience is 6.
Teams are also allowed to choose up to 10 practice squad players with more experience. No more than six can have more than two years of experience in the NFL.
Finally, one spot must go to an international player.
We will keep track of the players the Jets sign to the practice squad below.
