Mitch Tinsley was the star of the 2025 preseason. It helped him earn a spot on the Bengals’ 53-man roster last season. This year, he played okay, but not nearly at the level of some other young guys at wide receiver.
Mainly, Colbie Young and Dohnte Meyers really impressed throughout camp. The latter is likely the reason that Tinsley will not be on the Bengals’ initial 53-man roster.

According to Charlie Clifford, Tinsley has been waived.
There are still decisions to be made with a potential sixth wide receiver spot. Do the Bengals choose Ke’Shawn Williams over Charlie Jones as the primary returner? Reports seem to suggest that Jones will be on his way out. The Bengals could also end up opting for just 5 wide receivers, while keeping 5 tight ends on the roster to go with it. If that happens, Dohnte Meyers would also become the primary return man.
As for Tinsley, he could revert back to the Bengals’ practice squad if he goes unclaimed on waivers tomorrow. I think he showed enough last season to be a potential claim for another team this year.
Do you agree with the decision for the Bengals to keep Tinsley off of the initial 53-man roster this season?
