The Philadelphia Eagles made four roster moves on Monday, according to the NFL’s official personnel notice. Here’s an overview:

The 25-year-old Mahoney played college football at Vanderbilt before signing with the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2024. He played zero defense snaps and 30 special teams snaps as a rookie before bouncing on and off the 49ers in 2025. He also spent some time on the New York Jets‘ practice squad late last season.

Mahoney was selected by the Orlando Storm in the 2026 UFL Draft. He played 259 snaps for them, with most of them coming at safety.
Now in Philly, Mahoney will help the Eagles fill some safety reps in practice and the preseason finale.
Mims, 23, was a 2023 undrafted rookie free agent signing by the Buffalo Bills. He’s logged 108 offensive snaps and 71 special teams snaps over three seasons in the NFL.
Mims mostly recently spent time with the Minnesota Vikings, who originally signed him in late July before waiving him two weeks later.
Like Mahoney, Mims is likely arriving in Philly to help fill some reps in practice and the preseason finale.

The Eagles originally signed Gray, a former All-Pro special teams player, with the thought he could provide safety depth and help out on Michael Clay’s unit. But he didn’t do much to stand out this offseason and now he’s gone.
The Eagles originally signed Jackson when they were dealing with some running back injuries in training camp. Jackson got hurt on the opening kickoff of Saturday’s Eagles preseason game against the New England Patriots and was taken off the field in an ambulance. After a visit to the hospital, Jackson was able to travel back to Philly with the team.
