After falling to the Jacksonville Jaguars last weekend 24-20, the New Orleans Saints turn their attention to the second preseason game opponent, Los Angeles Rams. The NFC West foe, in contrast, is coming off of a 20-12 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Rams’ passing attack ranked 8th in the league during week one’s slate of games after their quarterbacks put up a combined 228 yards through the air. Meanwhile, New Orleans gave up 157 yards to Jacksonville’s QBs. On the ground, Los Angeles managed 93 yards, good for 21st overall. The Saints were not so fortunate after the Jags literally ran the tables in the second half as the defense allowed 118 rushing yards.

Following a joint practice with Los Angeles gave another opportunity for the Saints to see their 1’s get valuable reps, it is expected that many starters will once more not hit the field for New Orleans during this Saturday’s preseason contest.
It is likely that this weekend’s players and snap counts will look similar to a week ago as teams continue to whittle down their rosters and give those vying for depth chart moves increased opportunities to show off their skillsets. The Rams made it to the NFC Championship game last season before falling to the eventual Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks. Regardless of the outcome on Saturday, a matchup against another 2025 postseason squad will only prove to be beneficial for a Saints team that continues its rebuilding efforts.
