The Sixers are hiring Tommy Balcetis as their new head of basketball intelligence, analytics and innovation, reports Michael Scotto of HoopsHype (via Twitter).

The veteran NBA executive spent 12 years with the Nuggets from 2013-2025, earning multiple promotions in Denver’s front office. The Nuggets decided not to retain him in June 2025 after his contract expired.

Balcetis was initially hired as the Denver’s basketball analytics manager and worked his way up the organization from there, earning the title of director of strategy and analytics, then VP of basketball strategy and analytics. In 2020, he was promoted to assistant general manager, his last role with the organization.

After parting ways with the Nuggets, Balcetis spent the 2025/26 season in his native Lithuania as Zalgiris Kaunas’ head of innovations.

The 76ers have made several front office changes this offseason, firing former president of basketball operations Daryl Morey and replacing him with Mike Gansey. Elton Brand is also no longer Philadelphia’s general manager, with executive VP of basketball operations Jameer Nelson — who was promoted from assistant GM — now second in command.

Of course, the Sixers’ roster looks drastically different now too. Gansey drafted Labaron Philon Jr. No. 22 overall, traded for Jaylen Brown, and signed LeBron James, Dean Wade, Anfernee Simons, Ariel Hukporti and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in free agency. Caldwell-Pope was waived by Memphis following a buyout with the Grizzlies.
