At every media availability, Sean McVay is asked about Aaron Donald. It seems inevitable that the three-time Defensive Player of the Year will return to the Rams.

McVay said he doesn’t expect the defensive lineman to decide until the Rams return to their team facility in Woodland Hills. They are conducting training camp 25 miles south at Loyola Marymount University, with camp wrapping up Aug. 7.

But McVay offered a positive update on Donald’s future.

“If there’s an arrow, it’s trending upward,” McVay said, via Nate Atkins of TheAthletic.com.

Donald, 35, has not played since 2023, his 10th season in the NFL. But he has stayed in shape, and the team’s acquisition of two-time Defensive Player of the Year piqued Donald’s interest in a return.

The Rams open the season in Australia against the 49ers on Sept. 10.
