The news that Ben Powers restructured his contract to save the team money came to me as no surprise whatsoever. I think this is a win/win for the team and the player in this case. The Broncos will get to shave some space while guaranteeing more money to Powers down the line regardless of what shakes out.
Look for Alex Palczewski to bring the heat for the left guard position this year. The competition between him and Powers may be a nothing-burger, but I think the team wouldn’t make that request and move unless there was a very real possibility of releasing Powers and going with Palczewski.

At the end of the day, this offensive line is the best in the NFL. The level of competition is nothing but good for the team, their future, and the success of the Broncos offense.
