The Patriots signed second-round pick Gabe Jacas this weekend, but the rookie is not ready to start practicing with the team.
Jacas was placed on the team’s non-football injury list on Sunday. Jacas missed offseason work while dealing with injuries, including a knee issue that required surgical intervention. The linebacker will not practice with the team until he’s off the list and he can be activated at any time.

The Patriots put Harold Landry on the physically unable to perform list last week, so they are without a pair of their pass rushing options in the early days of training camp.
The team also announced that wide receiver Jeremiah Webb was placed on injured reserve to create space for Jacas on the active roster.
