On Friday afternoon, the rookies for the Seattle Seahawks reported for training camp, and one member of the Seahawks’ draft class has been placed on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.
Seventh-round defensive tackle Deven Eastern, who’s missed parts of minicamp and OTAs with an unspecified injury, is the first to go on the PUP list.
As the Seattle Times’ Bob Condotta noted, the former Minnesota Golden Gopher has missed parts of minicamp and OTAs with an “unspecified injury.” It’s certainly going to be a tall task for Eastern to make the active roster when he’s already missed valuable offseason practice time.

Unlike the regular season PUP, in which a player placed there at the end of preseason must miss the first four games of the season, players on the training camp PUP list can be activated at any time. We’ll wait and see on when Eastern returns, and with the first practice set for July 25, we might get clarity by then from Mike Macdonald regarding the severity of his injury.
