When it comes to pitching LeBron James on his next destination, there may not be a team that can bring bigger names to the negotiation table than the Golden State Warriors.
“The Bay, we know how to win. Beautiful weather, great golf…,” Curry said of his long-time friend, rival and Olympic teammate. “The USA experience that we had, the battles that we had over the years, we just know how to play basketball, and I think he would enjoy just the idea of what it means to finish your career the right way.”
Curry and James starred together as part of Team USA at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, teaming up together for the first time on the national team to help the side to gold.
James, 41, decided after the 2025-26 season that he would not return to the Los Angeles Lakers, where he’s spent the last eight years of his career.
Immediately, teams around the league began putting together their pitch decks to court the King’s services in what may be the final stretch of his storied career.
James is reportedly considering a bevy of teams for his 24th season. Along with Golden State, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Miami, Minnesota, Denver, San Antonio, Dallas, Boston and New York are all in the mix.
“He knows what he wants and eventually he’ll make that decision,” Curry said of James.
James is coming off a season in which he averaged 20.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 7.2 assists per game. For his career, he’s averaged 26.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 7.4 assists in more than 1,600 games.
Curry, 38, is also doing well in his battle against Father Time. He averaged 26.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 4.7 assists while shooting 46.8 per cent from the field and 39.3 per cent from three-point range in 43 games.
