Free agent guard Victor Oladipo will be auditioning for NBA teams at 11:00 am local time in Las Vegas on Tuesday, he announced on social media (Twitter link).
The 34-year-old, who was selected No. 2 overall back in 2013, wrote that Mavericks assistant coach Phil Handy will lead the workout, which is “open to NBA front office executives, scouts, coaches, league personnel, and officials interested in attending.”
Oladipo won numerous accolades — including Most Improved Player, All-NBA third team, and All-Defensive first team — for an outstanding 2017/18 season with the Pacers. He was named an All-Star again in ’18/19, but his career was derailed by a ruptured quadriceps tendon he suffered in January 2019.
Although he eventually made his way back to the court, Oladipo continued to struggle with injuries, including undergoing a second surgery to repair the quad tendon in May 2021. He was limited to just 60 appearances from 2020-22.
Oladipo played in 42 games during the ’22/23 campaign, but sustained another devastating injury — a torn left patellar tendon — in the first round of the 2023 playoffs. He was technically under contract for ’23/24 as well, but April 22, 2023, was his last NBA appearance.
The 10-year veteran played three preseason games with a Chinese team last fall and spent most of ’25/26 with Milwaukee’s G League affiliate, the Wisconsin Herd. He averaged 14.0 PPG, 4.4 RPG, 3.8 APG and 1.7 SPG on .394/.321/.714 shooting in 26 total games with the Herd (28.7 MPG).
Oladipo’s NBAGL rights were traded to the Cleveland Charge in late February, but he never suited up for the Cavs’ affiliate club.
