Former NBA star Patrick Ewing has agreed to become an assistant coach under Brian Keefe in Washington, sources tell ESPN’s Shams Charania (Twitter link). Ewing will get back into coaching after serving as an ambassador for the Knicks since 2024.

He also returns to the city where he starred for Georgetown in the 1980s, leading the Hoyas to one national championship and three trips to the Final Four. He later became the school’s head coach, compiling a 75-109 record and reaching one NCAA Tournament from 2017 to 2023.
