The Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver group has been a big subject this offseason. John Spytek was expected to make plenty of moves to help add more depth and explosiveness on the outside.
It started with the team signing Jalen Nailor from the Minnesota Vikings. The next step was the draft, where they surprised fans and the media by only taking one WR. That WR is Malik Benson Jr out of Oregon, who led the team in receiving yards in 2025.

In a column this week by ESPN’s Ryan McFadden. He gave props to the young wide receiver for his performance during OTAs.
[Benson] showcased that ability throughout OTAs and minicamp. He and quarterback Fernando Mendoza developed a strong connection during practices. Benson was Mendoza’s go-to target during team drills, especially in the middle of the field. The competition at wide receiver is pretty much wide open, meaning Benson has a chance to create a role for himself in Year 1 if his production continues during training camp
It is a great sign for the Raiders’ sixth-round pick, who is making his presence known early in the offseason. Training camp will be a huge opportunity for Benson to find a role to contribute to the Raiders football team.
