Shortly after he went undrafted, George Washington big man Rafael Castro reached a two-way agreement with the Bucks, per Dushawn London of 247Sports (Twitter link).
Castro was considered a borderline second-round pick heading into the draft, ranking No. 68 on Jeremy Woo’s final big board for ESPN.
After struggling to gain playing time in two seasons at Providence, Castro transferred to George Washington for his junior season and became the full-time starting center. He was named to All-Atlantic 10 second team and All-Atlantic 10 defensive team during each of his two years with the Revolutionaries.
As a senior in 2025/26, Castro was quite productive, averaging 15.3 points, 9.1 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.7 blocks in 27.3 minutes per game across 27 appearances. The 23-year-old, who’s listed at 6’10”, shot 62.7% from the field and 66.1% from the foul line.
Two-way contracts are non-guaranteed and don’t count against the salary cap. If he remains on a two-way contract all of next season, Castro projects to earn $679K, half of the rookie minimum.
