The Los Angeles Chargers have had a very transformative offseason as they look to get back towards the mountaintop in 2026.
The Chargers have found ways to improve the roster both internally and externally, but they may not be done yet. Bleacher Report writer Moe Moton believes the Chargers should sign linebacker Tui Tuipulotu to a contract extension before the start of the season.

“In April, Chargers general manager Joe Hortiz that extension talks with safety Derwin James Jr. and Tuipulotu will “heat up” after the draft. Los Angeles inked James to a three-year, $75.6 million extension. Tuipulotu should be next. In 2025, he logged career highs in sacks (13) and pressures (32). The 2025 Pro Bowler may top those numbers as the team’s leading edge-rusher in snap count,“ Moton wrote.
Tuipulotu, 23, is entering the final season of his rookie deal that he signed in 2023 when he was a second-round pick out of USC. Tuipulotu has improved in every season of his career, going from 4.5 sacks in his rookie year to 8.5 in 2024. This past season, Tuipulotu had 13 sacks for the Chargers, which ranked sixth in the league behind Nik Bonitto (Denver Broncos), Aiden Hutchinson (Detroit Lions), Danielle Hunter (Houston Texans), Brian Burns (New York Giants) and Myles Garrett (Cleveland Browns).
